She Finally Has a Name!

We have FINALLY decided on a name! It was really funny today. As I was going through my children's books for her I stumbled upon one of my favorite author's books and a book that I love that I had forgotten I had. The name of the book is a name Brian and I have been thinking about for quite a while. I saw it and got the biggest smile on my face. Then I brought the book to Brian and he looked at me with the biggest smile. I think we knew right then that we really want to name her that and we were immediately excited! SO........take a look at the picture of her dresser and you will see Baby Patton's name!! :)

I'm also adding a picture of me about to go to Yoga! Let's just say my body and face weren't as enthusiastic two hours after yoga! It was good for me, but man I was sore! I do plan on doing it again though!!

Hello Again!!

Wow! I am 31 WEEKS NOW!! Can you believe how fast the time is flying by? So much has been happening the past few weeks. We went to the doctor last week and everything is going great and right on track. She is getting so big and her heartbeat sounds wonderful. I'm measuring just right and we are thinking she is about 3 pounds now. Brian used the little heartbeat monitor on my tummy and found her heartbeat right away. Brian is getting so excited and loves to feel her kicking. We are continuing to get all the things for her room but we are waiting for the new carpet to be put in her room tomorrow and then we will get everything organized in there. It's going to turn out so cute thanks to my mom and Brian's mom. I can't wait to see the final product and post a picture.

Two weekends ago my mom and Brian's mom came to help us get the rest of the house organized so then we can focus on baby stuff. It was super helpful and we are very thankful to have things together with other parts of the house. Our childbirth classes are going great. We are really enjoying learning about the adventures of labor and what we are going to be experiencing. Recently we have had our busy time of August with the business with all the Texas State students moving in and out of apartment complexes. It was a very successful August for us and we are thankful to have more time now to focus on other things. I am also anxious to learn more and more to help Brian with all the office work. Since I am not going back to teaching I am going to be doing a lot of the office work and it's been fun to work with Brian and help him with anything I can. Especially since I am missing having my little 2nd graders each day.

I'm getting pretty big as you can see and her movements are much stronger and in different spots now. She sticks out her body parts all over my stomach. She loves to kick or put what I think is her feet right on my ribs. We know her head is down which is great! She is getting all ready for her big debut! I love to feel her each day. It is such a blessing to have this precious baby inside of me and I still can't believe that we are about to be parents!! :)

The devastating wildfires are are fairly close to us but still pretty far. It's just so sad and scary especially when you can see all the smoke. We were driving home on Monday and all we could see for miles on I-10 around Columbus and Luling were clouds of smoke in the sky. It looked liked real puffy clouds but definitely was not. It has cooled off around here though which has been nice not to have 110 temperatures everyday. We are continuing to pray for rain but it doesn't look like we are going to get any for a while.

We have been in Houston for some very special events recently. Two of my wonderful friends, Katie and Kathryn, have gotten married and I have been so excited to be a part of both weddings. We had so much fun both weekends with all the different festivities! I'm going to post some pictures from both weddings!

We go back to the doctor in two weeks. Looking forward to seeing her progress! Hope everyone is doing well and staying happy and healthy! Love you guys!

26 Weeks and loving it!

On Tuesday we got to celebrate our three year anniversary! It was such a fun night at one of our favorite restaurants, Trattoria Lisina, in Driftwood at the winery! I still can't believe three years has gone by but it has and it's getting closer and closer for our little girl to come into this world. Baby girl Patton has been kicking quite hard the past three days. I'm pretty sure she is running out of room and a little uncomfortable. I can feel body parts rub against my stomach or ribs and we still have about three months to go...ahhhh!! Where is she going to go? Tonight we start our child birth classes. I am super excited to meet everyone and start learning about everything to come. Next Thursday is my 28 week appointment with my glucose test so I will blog again after that and let you know how everything went. I will actually only be 27 weeks next week but that's when my appointment is. This past weekend I got to celebrate Kathryn Eyre at her bachelorette party. It was really fun and a relaxing time at the lake with some wonderful ladies! I posted a picture from the weekend. Hope everyone is doing well and staying out of the heat!

New Updates

Hello again!
It seems like I haven't been on here in forever. We have had lots going on and it has been difficult to find time to get on and update. We recently had to put our precious dog, Trevor, down because he has been battling cancer for the past few months. It has been such a struggle for us and for him and if you know Brian and I then you know that we are huge dog lovers and we treat them like they are our little babies. So, it has been such a heart wrenching experience, but we know that he is not suffering and he is running and playing with my sweet Hanna in heaven now. If you knew Trevor you knew he was a very unique dog. We have had so many fun memories with that boy and we are holding onto all of those to get us through all the tough times.

God has been doing such amazing things to give us the gift of having a baby at this point in our lives. Our time on earth is so precious and it's so important to spend your time here loving on your family and friends and making the most of what blessings you have right now. Brian and I know how blessed we are to have each other to get through experiences like these and with our baby girl on the way we are so excited to see what lies for us in the future.

I have been feeling great except for a few minor discomforts here and there. She has been moving like crazy and I am starting to see a pattern in when she is awake and moving. I love every second that I get to feel her and when Brian gets to feel her. I went to the doctor last week and everything is right on track. The heartbeat sounded great and we are both growing like weeds. I am 24 weeks now and getting closer to that third trimester. I go back to the doctor for my 28 week appointment in August and get to take that yummy drink for my glucose test. Little sarcasm there! The nursery decisions are coming along and I am so thankful to have a wonderful mother and mother in law to help me. We are getting closer to deciding on a name, but aren't sure just yet! We will reveal as soon as we can decide and knowing Brian and I she might be here before we make a decision! I will post again soon...I promise! And with a picture of my growing belly!

Surprise!!

IT'S A GIRL!!! We cannot believe it still and we are so ecstatic! What an amazing day this has been. It was such a fun experience and we both really thought it was going to be a boy, so I was shocked and Brian was even more shocked when she said it was a girl! The woman doing the ultrasound asked us if we wanted to find out and we said yes we can't wait! Then she said oh wow there it is.....so we we're both thinking it's a boy. She asked what we thought it was and I said a boy and she said no it's a girl and Brian said REALLY!! It was hilarious....then I just burst out laughing and crying. Then, the rest of the time I couldn't stop laughing and smiling! She said everything looks great and the baby is in the 49th percentile which makes her in the average range. Her heartbeat was 135 bpm. She is measuring at 19 weeks and 5 days which is great. She waved to us a few times and was moving all around. She opened her mouth for us. Everything looked really good! I was hoping to get the ultrasound uploaded and put it on here for you guys to see, but the file is so big that it wasn't able to upload. We are trying to figure it out and then hopefully we will have it up here soon. I can't wait to start on her nursery and start getting things rolling now! We are also trying to figure out our name choices. I am so excited to see Brian with his little girl and we only have 4 months until SHE is here! :)

Little Change in our Appointment!

Well I know I said today was going to be the day to find out the gender of the baby, but I got a call last week to reschedule my appointment. :( So now (hopefully) WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22 IS THE BIG DAY TO FIND OUT!! Brian and I are so ready and hoping that everything goes great on Wednesday and we are able to find out. We are also just so excited to see the baby again. It's definitely not a little bean anymore. This baby is growing so much and I love it! My ligaments have been stretching and I feel bigger more and more as the days go by. We had a wonderful weekend in Galveston with Brian's family. Brian's grandmother had a fun birthday weekend and it was great to catch up with everyone. I have attached some pictures! I will definitely be writing again on Wednesday and hope to share with everyone what this little cutie is!
