Our Sweet Pea!!

Big yawn just like daddy yawns!

Wow I can't believe how time is flying. My little princess is going to be 6 weeks old on Wednesday!! She is getting bigger and I think starting to look more and more like me and my baby pictures!! She has really started smiling and looking straight at us with a huge smile. It melts my heart every time. :) We love getting those cute little smirks out of her.

We have been running errands together when the days aren't too cold and she really loves to be in the car as most babies do! She is getting so strong too and loves to try to hold her head up and kick her feet! Little baby exercises! Kathy came to visit us this past weekend and she got to spend some great time with Emma Kate! We made gingerbread cookies and homemade chocolate ice cream! Yummy! It was a fun relaxing weekend.

Last week we got the tree up and decorated the house for Christmas! Love this time of year....Brian and I have been discussing when to do the good ole Christmas shopping. It might be a little trickier this year with our little one. Maybe Brian will volunteer to go get it all done for me one day!! haha we'll see!

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this wonderful season! In the midst of all the holiday stress don't forget the real reason for Christmas and celebrating the birth of Jesus! As well as how important family is! Enjoy being with your families and soak up all the fun moments with them! Love you guys :)

Emma Kates Arrival!!

Hello Everyone!!

I had hoped to post some pictures and blog to you guys a lot sooner, but things have been a little busy!! As you know little Emma Kate is finally here and in our arms! She was a little pokey and definitely took her time coming out. I wonder who she takes after!! Anyways after somewhere around 43 hours of labor my precious little girl arrived. I started having contractions in the middle of the night Monday, October 31 and she was born Wednesday, November 2 at 10:22 p.m. Thank goodness Lexi was able to make it. She hopped on a plane Tuesday afternoon and was in Austin by Tuesday night.....not to mention it was my niece/her daughters birthday. As hard as I'm sure that was to leave her daughter on her birthday and her family she did it for me and I can't tell you what that meant to me. I remember saying Praise the Lord as soon as she walked in the delivery room. It was very special to me to have her there as my sister and the wonderful doula that she is! It was instant relief when I knew I was going to have her and Brian with my through this experience. God is so good and I am so thankful to Him for bringing Lexi to me, having a wonderful hubby to coach me through my labor, and a healthy baby at the end of it! I wouldn't of wanted it any other way. My mom, Brian's mom, and Meredith (Brian's cousin) all waited in the waiting room the whole time. They were such good supporters and I appreciate them being there through it as well!

Emma was 6 lbs 3 oz and 20 inches long. A little tiny bean! I thought she looked just like Brian when she came out, but now I am seeing both of us in her face and facial expressions. She loves to stretch and do full body yawns just like daddy. She has lots of dark hair and was so precious from the very first moment I held her. All my exhaustion went away and nothing can describe how I felt holding her for the first time. :)

We have had lots of fun visitors helping us, feeding us, and just coming to visit. It has been so wonderful to have close friends and family come by. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with both sides of the family last week. Everyone got to play and see little Emma Kate and it was so fun to be with family again!

Emma Kate is going to be 1 month old tomorrow. I cannot believe how the time has been flying. I want to slow it down. I try to soak up every minute with my little one because before I know it she will be walking and talking!! She has been so fun and such a sweet little baby. I love to just hold her and watch her. She is changing all the time and getting bigger and bigger. We went to the pediatrician today for her 1 month check up. She now weighs 8 pounds!!!! Last time we went to her doctor was two weeks ago and in one week she had gained a whole pound and now she is 8 lbs. I can't believe how well she is growing....so exciting! Everything else looked great too.

I am definitely loving being a mommy and all the experiences that come with it. We are learning so much from each other and she is too cute for words! Brian has been such a sweet daddy to her too. He makes her smile by singing funny songs to her and loves kissing on her! She is one blessed little girl!

I'm posting pictures from the week she was born and pictures since then. She has definitely grown and shown mommy and daddy how strong she is. She loves to kick her feet and try to hold her head up. It cracks us up! I will hopefully keep posting and putting new pictures of Emma Kate up as she grows!

Countdown has begun!

Well we are almost there! I'm 38 weeks now and I can't believe she is about to be here. I am in full nesting mode trying to get everything ready for her arrival. My mom was here this weekend helping me get some last minute things done. She finished painting our bathroom...yay!! It probably would not of gotten finished if she hadn't been here! She also made the bedding for Emma Kate's beautiful bassinet. I put some pictures up of the finished beautiful bassinet! We also enjoyed a delicious dinner on Saturday night so I posted some of those pictures to! Thank you mom for all your help....we appreciate everything you do!

I am going to the doctor on Wednesday and I am excited to see how she is doing and how big she is getting! We are also going to tour the hospital on Wednesday night. Last week we had our last childbirth class and I am a little sad that its over, but I feel so much more confident and happy that we took the Bradley Method classes! Our instructor was awesome and really made the classes enjoyable for Brian and I.

I am feeling pretty good overall. I just get tired a little more now and I can tell it's getting close! Most nights I am sleeping well but she is getting a little heavy now. I can tell Brian is feeling how close it's getting and it's so cute to see how excited he is. He talks to her and makes lots of noises at my belly which is funny but I wonder what Emma Kate is thinking when he does that. I just can't wait to see Brian with her! It's funny how emotional I am right now as well. Just started to cry thinking about our little blessing being here so soon! :)

I will definitely send out any updates as they are happening, but I also just wanted to say thank you to everyone for going through this journey with us and sending us all your wonderful prayers. We love you guys and are so thankful to have you all in our lives.

36 Weeks!

Hello Everyone! We are at 36 weeks now! I am getting overly excited at how soon she is going to be here. I can't believe how much life is going to change in just a few short weeks. I'm still feeling pretty good just tired and feeling pretty heavy!! The doctor said everything is looking wonderful last week and I am measuring just right. We go back to the doctor tomorrow. I have started to stay up at night thinking about everything else I still need to get done. :) I'm pretty tired tonight so I'm hoping for a better nights sleep. All her little body parts are sticking out and moving everywhere. She is a very active little girl! The nursery is looking beautiful. I will post pictures soon, but its getting really close to being done...just a few more things to go up! We have one more week of our childbirth class which makes me sad because I have loved it so much and learned so many wonderful things that make me feel so confident for labor and delivery. I had two beautiful and special showers a few weeks ago and it was so exciting to see so many wonderful friends and family! I am so thankful to all my hostesses and loved ones and those who traveled so far to be at my showers. I also had friends and family that were unable to come but were so kind to send special gifts and I know they would have been at the showers if they could of. I'm going to post some pictures from the showers. I will post again soon with a little update as we get closer and closer to Emma's birthday!! Send all your prayers this way as Brian and I are starting to get anxious and excited for Emma Kates arrival! We love you guys and hope you are having a wonderful week! Ohh yea and how awesome was all the rain we have had in Texas the past week! Everything is looking much greener and happier :)
